Google Contacts for Zoho Desk

Maintaining your customers' information is important. However, you may have their information in both Google Contacts and Zoho Desk. With the Google Contacts extension for Zoho Desk, you can transfer customers' information between the two applications easily. This helps you keep customers' information up-to-date and synchronized with Zoho Desk.

Installing the Google Contacts Extension
The Google Contacts extension can be installed from the Zoho Marketplace or your Zoho Desk account.
  1. Log in to your Zoho Desk account with Administrator privileges.
  2. Click the Setup icon  ) in the top bar.
  3. Under Marketplace, click All.
  4. Search for 'Google Contacts' in the search bar on the right-hand side of the screen.
  5. Select the Google Contacts extension and click Install.
  6. In the Google Contacts Installation Setup page, select profiles whose agents can access the extension in Zoho Desk.
  7. Agree to the Terms of Use and click Install.
  8. Click Authorize and select the portal in which you want to install the extension.
  9. Click Authorize in the pop-up, to authorize your Google account.
The Google Contacts extension can be accessed from the bottom band of Zoho Desk.

Exporting and Importing Data
Information from the Customer module in Zoho Desk can now be exported to the Zoho Desk Contacts group in Google Contacts. Similarly, information from Google Contacts can now be imported to the Customer module in Zoho Desk.

To export information from Zoho Desk to Google Contacts:
  1. Click the Extensions icon  ) in the bottom band of Zoho Desk.
  2. In the Google Contact widget pop-up, click the Export Contacts tab.
    Details from the Customer module will be populated in the widget.



  3. Select the customers whose information you want to export to Google Contacts.
  4. Click Add to export these customers to Google Contacts.

Note:
  • If the selected list contains any customers who have been deleted from the Zoho Desk Contacts group, then a pop-up will prompt you to Add or Skip these customers. Click Add to export these customers to Google Contacts. Click Skip if you do not want to export them to Google Contacts.

To import information to Zoho Desk from Google Contacts:
  1. Click the Import Contacts tab.
    A list of groups in Google Contacts and the number of contacts in each group will appear in the widget pop-up.



  2. Select the groups you want to import and click Add.
    All contact information from the selected groups will be stored in the Customers module in Zoho Desk.


Uninstalling Google Contacts
To uninstall the Google Contacts extension:
  1. Click the Setup icon  ) in the top bar.
  2. In the Setup Landing page, click All under Marketplace.
  3. In the Marketplace page, click Installed Extensions.
  4. Choose Google Contacts from the list of extensions.
  5. Click the More icon  ) at the upper-right corner of the Google Contacts extension setup page.
  6. Select Uninstall Extension.
  7. Click Confirm to uninstall the extension.

Note:
  • When the Google Contacts extension is uninstalled, any widgets that were created will be deleted.
