Just-in-time provisioning

Just-in-time (JIT) provisioning creates a Zendesk account for users during their first SSO attempt, so you don't have to do it manually for each user. Zendesk automatically enables JIT while configuring SAML.

Test the SAML connection

  1. Return to the Zoho Directory Admin Panel.
  2. Go to Applications, then click Zendesk.
  3. Click Assign Users, choose yourself from the list, then click Assign.
  4. Click on the  icon next to the app's name. If everything is working, you should be automatically signed in and taken to Zendesk's homepage.

Enforce SAML SSO

After successfully testing SSO, you can enforce it for team members, end users, or both. Once this is done, your users will no longer be able to sign in using their Zendesk credentials.

To assign SSO for team members:

  1. Go to the Admin Center.
  2. Click  in the side bar, then click Security.
  3. Click Team member authentication.
  4. Select External authentication, then select SAML as the SSO option.
  5. Click Save

To assign SSO for end users:

  1. Go to the Admin Center.
  2. Click  in the side bar, then click Security.
  3. Click End user authentication.
  4. Select SAML as the SSO option.
  5. Click Save.
