Zoho Sprints Extension for Zoho Desk

Zoho Sprints is an online agile project management solution designed to help teams plan their project, track their progress, and deliver great products on time. It also enables people to discuss, collaborate, and iterate on their products to achieve perfection. The Zoho Sprints extension for Zoho Desk seamlessly connects your customers, support, and development for end-to-end visibility of features and issues. It allows you to provide speedy and agile customer support by creating work items for tickets while tracking their progress— all from within Zoho Desk.

  1. Submit work items to the relevant engineering team by mapping departments within Zoho Desk to related projects in Zoho Sprints.
  2. Comments added to the work items in Zoho Sprints will be pushed to Zoho Desk, and vice versa—as private comments.
  3. Classify the work items to track different types of work—such as user stories, tasks, bugs, or custom work items.
  4. View ticket details such as the status, due date, and assignee status from within Zoho Sprints.

Note:
  1. You must be the administrator of a Zoho Sprints account to map its team and projects in Zoho Desk.
  2. You can only integrate with paid editions of Zoho Sprints.​

Installing Zoho Sprints Extension
The Zoho Sprints extension can be installed from the Zoho Marketplace or your Zoho Desk account.
  1. Log in to your Zoho Desk account with Administrator privileges.
  2. Click the Setup icon (  ) in the top bar.
  3. Under Marketplace, click All.
  4. Search for 'Zoho Sprints' in the search bar on the right-hand side of the screen.
  5. Select the Zoho Sprints extension and click Install.
  6. Click Continue on the Use of Personal Details window.
  7. Click Install on the Confirm Installation window.
    You will land on the Zoho Sprints Installation Setup page.
  8. Select the Profiles and Departments whose agents can access the extension in Zoho Desk.
  9. Agree to the Terms of Use and click Install.
    The extension will be installed for the specified profiles and departments.
  10. Click Authorize in the pop-up window to activate the extension.
  11. Click Accept to allow Zoho Workflow to access data in your Zoho Desk account.



  12. Upon successful authorization, click the Preference tab and do the following:
    1. Select the Zoho Sprints Team that you want to integrate with.
    2. Map the Projects under the chosen team with your departments in Desk.
    3. Click Save.
  13. Voila! Zoho Sprints extension will be ready for use.

Adding Zoho Sprints Work Items from Zoho Desk
On installing the extension, you can directly create Zoho Sprints work items from Zoho Desk tickets.
To create work items for tickets:
  1. Click Tickets from the menu bar and open a ticket.
  2. Click the Extensions icon (  ) on the right side of the ticket's detail page.
    You can view the Zoho Sprints extension in the right panel.



  3. Select the appropriate project to which you want to add the work item from the Sprints Project drop-down list.
  4. Edit the name and description of the work item, if necessary.
  5. Select the item type for the work item from the Item Type drop-down list.
    You can choose between storytaskbug, or a custom work item (if available).
  6. Select the required priority level for the work item from the Priority drop-down list.
  7. Click Add to create a new work item.



You have created a new Zoho Sprints work item. Notice that relevant information about the work item will appear alongside the associated ticket in Zoho Desk. Also, you can click on the (  ) icon to open and manage the work item in Zoho Sprints on a new tab.

Delinking Zoho Sprints Work Items
You can delink work item to remove its information from a ticket in Zoho Desk.
To delink a work item:
  1. Click Tickets from the menu bar and open a ticket linked with Zoho Sprints work item.
  2. Click the Extensions icon (  ) on the right side of the ticket's detail page.
    You can view the linked work item under Zoho Sprints extension on the right panel.
  3. Hover your mouse pointer over a work item and then click the Delink icon (  ) corresponding to it.
The work item will be delinked from the ticket. Note that the work item will not be deleted from Zoho Sprints.

Viewing Ticket Details in Zoho Sprints
As a Zoho Sprints user, you can view details about tickets linked to your work items such as the status, due date, and assignee status.
To view the details of a linked Zoho Desk Support ticket:
  1. Navigate to Project Backlog in Zoho Sprints and select a work item to open the Item details page.
  2. Click the Zoho Desk icon in the upper-right corner.
    The ticket information appears in the panel on the right.
  3. To view more details about the ticket, click the View in Zoho Desk link in the panel.



Uninstall the Extension
You can uninstall the Zoho Sprints extension at any time. Once uninstalled, your agents cannot create Zoho Sprints work items from tickets.
To uninstall the extension:
  1. Click the Setup icon (  ) in the top bar.
  2. In the Setup Landing page, click All under Marketplace.
  3. In the Marketplace page, select the Installed Extensions tab.
  4. Choose Zoho Sprints from the list of extensions.
  5. Click the More Actions icon (  ) at the upper-right corner of the Zoho Sprints extension setup page.
  6. Select Uninstall Extension.
  7. Click Confirm to uninstall the extension.
