An email is considered to be spoofed when spammers forge an email address of an organization/person. The email received by the recipient would have the name of an authentic sender and will trick the recipient into thinking the email is from a trusted source. The spoofed emails can either look like a direct one-to-one email, a marketing email, or a
transactional email from a trusted source. Spoofing is often done to facilitate phishing activities.
