Sales Activities - An Overview

Sales Activities - An Overview

  1. Activities module is split up into Tasks, Calls and Meetings modules. This change will reflect for users who signed up after September 6, 2021.
  2. Existing users will have both the Activities module and the individual Tasks, Calls and Meetings modules to ease the transition.
  3. Activities module will be discontinued for existing users after giving them enough time for the transition and only Tasks, Calls and Meetings modules will be available.
The Tasks, Calls and Meetings modules in Zoho CRM are useful in giving complete perspective of the respective sales activities that are performed for a prospect. Within the prospect's record one can find the follow-up calls, meetings, email conversations, etc.
Jonah is a travel agent in a tours and travel company. The company receives enquiries on their website, a travel agent contacts each enquiry to gather more details, he emails the customer the packages that are available and finally sets up a meeting with them to discuss the final package and itinerary. He repeats these activities for every client and sometimes finds it challenging to remember whom to call or send an email. Also he has to refer to the calls, emails and details of other activities when he has a discussion with the client or his seniors.
He can maintain all this information in a common place from where he can quickly refer to all the activities that were performed on the client.
Jonah's manager, on the other hand, can use these modules to get a complete overview of the sales activities carried out by his team. He can generate reports for each activity to understand parameters like the time taken to close tasks, open activities, overdue activities, etc.
Each activity involves tracking information like date, time, notes and other parameters. You can record these details in the following modules in CRM.
