Contacts use signup forms to signup with your website/brand and subscribe to the email campaigns. Some contacts may have unwittingly subscribed to receive emails while signing up with your website, and might not actually be interested in receiving email campaigns. A few contacts might be interested in your product or brand, but may not be interested in receiving email campaigns. Sending emails to such contacts is a waste of your time and effort. There's also a risk of the contact getting annoyed receiving emails they are not even interested in.
The easiest solution to solve the above dilemma is using a double opt-in. Double opt-in revolves around the concept of sending an email to contacts who've signed up via signup forms and asking them to confirm their subscription by clicking a link. Double opt-in is a way of getting additional confirmation from your contacts. It is one of the ways to reinforce your contact's consent and interest in receiving emails from your organization.
Enable double opt-in
- From the Navigation toolbar, click Settings and select Manage Opt-in Settings.
- Enable the Enable Double Opt-in toggle.
