Manage APNs certificate for iOS devices
The Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) establishes a secure connection between the apps and the iOS devices for propagating information. For enrolling iOS devices in Zoho One, you will need a certificate generated through the APNs certificate portal.
Prerequisites
- A company-specific Apple ID, called Corporate Apple ID, is recommended for creating APNs certificate. This will reduce the consequences of an employee leaving the organization after creating APNs certificate using their personal Apple ID. Create a corporate Apple account
- Safari/Firefox/Chrome is recommended by Apple to access the APNs certificate portal.
The APNs certificate is valid for one year from its day of creation.
- Sign in to Zoho One , then click Directory in the left menu.
- Go to Device Management.
- Go to Enrollment tab, then click Settings.
- Click Configure certificate.
- Click Download to download a vendor-signed Certificate Signing Request (CSR).
- Sign in to Apple Push Certificate Portal using your corporate Apple ID.
- Click Create Certificate.
- Click Accept once you have read the terms and conditions.
- In Create a New Push Certificate, click Choose File.
- Browse and select the downloaded CSR, then click Upload.
- Click Download to download the new Apple-signed APNs certificate.
- Go back to Zoho One, then click Next.
- Enter the Corporate Apple ID and Expiry Notification Emails. A notification will be sent to the expiry notification email addresses everyday for 3 months before the APNs certificate expires.
- Upload the new Apple-signed APNs certificate.
Update notification details
To change the email address for sending an expiry notification:
- Sign in to Zoho One , then click Directory in the left menu.
- Click Device Management in the left menu.
- Go to the Enrollment tab and click Enrollment Settings.
- Click Manage Certificate.
- In the top-right corner of Notification Details, click Update Details.
- Enter the new email address, then click Update.
Note: Separate multiple email addresses with commas.
Remove APNs certificate
NOTE: You can remove the APNs certificate only after all iOS devices are staged or unenrolled.
To remove the APNs certificate:
- Sign in to Zoho One , then click Directory in the left menu.
- Click Device Management in the left menu.
- Go to the Enrollment tab and click Enrollment Settings.
- Click Manage Certificate.
- On the top-right corner of APNs Certificate Details, click Remove Certificate.
