Formstack Documents is an online document generation platform that lets you create documents of several types with dynamic content. You can send these document easily through the third party integrations provided. Formstack Documents lets you create Word Documents, Excel Sheets, Fillable PDF forms and HTML Document Builder.
With the Zoho CRM extension for Formstack Documents, you can easily merge fields from Zoho CRM and auto populate documents with a single click. You can then send your documents using any of the third party option provided by the Formstack Documents.
Installing the extension
You can either go to the
Zoho Marketplace and install the Formstack Documents extension or log in to your Zoho CRM account and install.
To install the extension
- Go to Setup > Marketplace > All.
- Click All Extensions, browse and click Formstack Documents. The details about the extension will be available.
- Click Install Now.
Agree to the terms of service and click
Continue.
- In Choose users/profiles, select the users you want to install the extension and click Confirm.
- You can install it for users with administrative profile only.
- You can install it for all users.
- You can choose for which profiles you want the extension to be installed.
- The extension will be installed automatically for the specified users.
- After installation, three tabs, i.e., Formstack Documents, Formstack Mappings, and Formstack Settings, will be created.
Authorizing the extension
In order to start using Formstack Documents in Zoho CRM, you need to Authorize it first.
- After installing the extension, click Formstack Settings Tab.
- You will be asked to enter the API Key and the API Secret.
For generating these keys, go to your Formstack account: - Go to My Account > API.
- Click on the link to generate the API key.
- Enter a name for the API key in the dialog box and click Create Key.
- Copy the generated keys to your Zoho CRM account.
- In Formstack Settings page, copy and paste the keys, and click Authorize.
The Admin has the option to allow access to other members of the organization and the option will be available only for the first-time authorization.
- With access given for all users by the admin, the org members can authorize using either the Admin account or their own credentials.
- Without access given, every member of the organization will have to use their own credentials to authorize.
Creating documents in Zoho CRM
Once the authorization of the extension is successful, you can start accessing Formstack Documents in your Zoho CRM by clicking on the Formstack Documents tab.
To create documents in Formstack
- In the Formstack Documents tab, you can either choose a document that you have already created or create a new document based on your needs. Know more.
- Go to the Formstack Mappings tab and click New Formstack Mapping.
- In the Create Formstack Mapping page:
- Enter the Mapping Name.
- Enter Description.
- Select the Module with which the mapping has to take place from the drop-down list.
- Select if the Formstack Resource Type is Document or Route.
- Select the Formstack Resource from the drop-down list.
- Map the fields from the template to the Zoho CRM fields.
- Click Save.
- Click on a record form the module for which you have created the Formstack.
- Click Formstack.
- You will get the list of Formstack documents that are present for that module from which you can select the one that you need.
- The document will be automatically sent to the record, based on the delivery option chosen in the Formstack Delivery page.

To uninstall the extension
- Go to Setup > Marketplace > All > Installed Extensions.
- Find the Formstack Documents extension and click Uninstall.
- Click OK to confirm.
The extension will be uninstalled.
