Enroll via Apple Configurator

Apple Configurator is a macOS app that is used to enroll iOS and iPadOS devices as corporate devices through USB.
With Apple Configurator, instead of configuring settings for devices individually, you can create a blueprint that contains the necessary configurations, then apply it to the target devices to enroll them.

Prerequisites

  1. A Mac computer with macOS 10.15.6 or later and Apple Configurator 2 installed.
  2. An APNs certificate. Configure APNs certificate.
  3. Devices supported in Apple Configurator 2. See supported devices.

Configure a blueprint

To enroll devices via Apple Configurator, you need to create and configure a blueprint. This blueprint will contain the necessary profiles, server information, and settings that need to be applied to devices to enroll them.
Follow the steps to configure a blueprint:

Copy the enrollment URL in Zoho One

  1. Sign in to Zoho One , then click Directory in the left menu.
  2. Go to Device Management.
  3. Go to the Enrollment tab, then click Corporate Enrollment.
  4. Select Apple as the OS and Apple Configurator as the Enrollment type.
  5. Copy the Enrollment URL.

Create blueprint

  1. Open Apple configurator.
  2. Click File, then click New Blueprint.
  3. Enter a name for the blueprint.

Prepare blueprint

  1. Right-click on the blueprint, then click Prepare.
  2. Choose Manual Configuration in the Prepare with list.
  3. Ensure Supervise devices is enabled, then click Next.
  4. Choose New Server in the Server list, then click Next.
  5. Enter a name for the new server, paste the URL copied from the Apple Configurator enrollment page, then click Next.
  6. Trust anchor certificates will be fetched from the Zoho One server. If it takes too long, click Next to skip this step.
  7. Choose New Organization in the Organization list, then click Next.
  8. Enter the details of your organization, then click Next.
  9. Select Generate a new supervision identity, then click Next.
  10. Configure the Setup Assistant for device activation by doing one of the following:
    1. Choose Show all steps to present all the steps during device setup.
    2. Choose Show only some steps and select the required steps to present only those steps during device setup.
    3. Choose Don't show any of these steps to skip the Setup Assistant completely
  11. Click Prepare.

Apply blueprint to devices and enroll

Once you have created a blueprint, you can apply the blueprint to target devices to enroll them into Zoho One. After enrolling devices, you can assign the enrolled devices to users.
To apply blueprint and enroll devices:
  1. Connect the target device to the Mac using USB. After connecting, you can see the device in Apple Configurator.
  2. RIght-click on the device, point to Apply, then select the created blueprint.
  3. Click Apply.
    Note: Applying blueprint to device may take some time. Don't shut down the computer during this period.
  4. In the device, follow the initial on-screen instructions.
  5. Tap Apply configurations in the device when prompted to enroll the device.
