The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) enrollment enables users to enroll their personal devices. You can enroll your devices in the following ways:
- By sharing enrollment links to users or groups through email.
- By generating an enrollment link to enroll each device.
Prerequisites
- You must have configured an APNs certificate to enroll Apple devices.
Enroll device by sharing enrollment link
In this method, the admin creates and sends enrollment invites to an individual or a group of users, to enroll multiple personal devices at a time. This method can be used by the admin, when the devices required to be enrolled are in possession of the users. The invites can be sent only to the organization members. To share the enrollment link:
- Sign in to Zoho One , then click Directory in the left menu.
- Go to Device Management.
- Go to the Enrollment tab, then click BYOD Enrollment.
- In the Share Enrollment link section, do one of the following:
- If you want to send the link to specific users, choose Individual and select users.
- If you want to send the link to all the users of a group, choose Group and select the group.
- Click Send Invite. An email with an OTP, a QR code, and an enrollment link will be sent to the specified email addresses along with the instructions to enroll the device.
- Instruct the users to follow the steps mentioned in the mail to enroll their devices.
Generate an enrollment link to enroll individual device
In this method, the admin uses a generated link to enroll the personal devices of the users. This method can be used by the admin when they have the devices with them. To enroll device:
- Sign in to Zoho One , then click Directory in the left menu.
- Go to Device Management.
- Go to the Enrollment tab, then click BYOD Enrollment.
- In the Enroll Device Yourself section, click Generate link.
- If you want to enroll an iOS device:
- Scan the QR code displayed on the screen, or open the Enrollment URL in the Safari browser.
- Accept the terms and conditions after reading.
- If you want to enroll an Android device:
- Download ManageEngine MDM App from Google Playstore.
- Scan the QR code displayed on the screen by clicking Scan QR code, or enter the Enrollment URL in the installed ME MDM app.
- Accept the terms and conditions after reading.
- If you want to enroll a Windows device:
- Scan the QR code displayed on the screen, or open the Enrollment URL in IE/Microsoft Edge browser.
- Accept the terms and conditions after reading.
- Click Done.
User assignment
When you enroll devices by sharing the enrollment invite, the devices will be assigned to the users who enroll their devices. But when you enroll devices in bulk yourself by generating an enrollment link/QR code, the devices will be assigned to you. You will then need to
reassign those devices to their corresponding owners.
You can also enroll multiple devices for a user. To enroll another device for a user, share the enrollment invite with them again. Alternatively enroll the device yourself by generating enrollment link/QR code, then reassign the device to the user.
