Configure SAML in Zoho One/Directory

If you're a Zoho One user:

  1. Sign in to Zoho One, then click Directory in the left menu.
  2. Go to Marketplace, then click Browse Applications.
  3. Use the search bar to find and install Drift.

If you're a Zoho Directory user:

  1. Sign in to Zoho Directory, then click Admin Panel in the left menu.
  2. Go to Applications, then click Add Application.
  3. Use the search bar to find and add Drift.

  4. Name your app, then click Add.
  5. Click the Single Sign-On tab.
  6. Click Service Provider Details to check and verify the SP details. You can also edit them, if needed.
  7. Click Identity Provider Details, then copy the Issuer, Sign-in URL, and X.509 Certificate.

Configure SAML in Drift

  1. Sign in to your Drift account.
  2. Go to Settings, then click Security.
  3. Click Configure SAML authentication.
  4. Enter the Domain Name, then click Add domain.
  5. Verify the domain. When a user tries to sign in with an email address under that domain, they will be redirected to Zoho Directory.
  6. Paste the previously-copied Issuer in the Identity Provider Entity ID field.
  7. Paste the previously-copied Sign-in URL in the SAML Redirect Endpoint field.
  8. Paste the previously-copied X.509 Certificate in the Identity Provider Public Key field.

Just-in-time provisioning

Just-in-time (JIT) provisioning creates a Drift account for users during their first SSO attempt, so you don't have to do it manually for each user. Drift automatically enables JIT while configuring SAML.

Test the SAML connection

  1. Return to the Zoho Directory Admin Panel.
  2. Go to Applications, then click Drift.
  3. Click Assign Users, choose yourself from the list, then click Assign.
  4. Click on the  icon next to the app's name. If everything is working, you should be automatically signed in and taken to Drift's homepage.
