Commission Management for Zoho CRM

The Commission Management extension for Zoho CRM will calculate the commission amount for salespeople in Zoho CRM automatically. The extension calculates the commission amount based on each user's personalized commission plan settings whenever a deal is won in Zoho CRM. The CRM administrator can update the commission amount whenever required for as many salespeople as necessary.
Note: The extension is only supported for the Deals module of Zoho CRM.

Installing the extension

The extension can be installed either from the Zoho Marketplace or from the organization's Zoho CRM account.
To install from Zoho CRM:
  1. Go to Setup > Marketplace > All.
    All your installed extensions will be shown in a list.
  2. Click All Extensions.
    All the extensions supported in CRM will be displayed. Browse the list and click Commission Management. Details about the extension will be displayed.
  3. Click Install Now.
  4. Agree to the Terms of Service and click Continue.

  5. Choose one of the following options and click Confirm:
    1. Install for admin only: The extension will only be installed for users with the Administrator profile.
    2. Install for all users: The extension will be installed for all users.
    3. Choose profiles: The extension will only be installed in CRM for users with the selected profiles. If you choose this option, click Continue, then select the profiles.
      The extension will be installed automatically for the specified users.

Once the extension is installed, a new Commission Info tab will be created, and the Commission and Commission Info fields will be available in the Deals module.

Creating commission settings

The administrator must predefine the commission plan settings in the Commission Management - Settings page, which they will be redirected to once the extension is installed. The commission amount is calculated based on these plan settings, and you can create multiple plans based on your business needs.

To create commission plan settings:
  1. Click Create New on the Commission Management - Settings page.
    The Commission Plan Settings page will open.

  2. Enter a Plan Name.
  3. Select Product UnitsDeal Count, or Deal Age for Plan based on.
    1. Product Units: The commission will be updated in Commission Info once sales orders have been mapped and their delivery status is changed to Delivered.
    2. Deal Age: The commission will be updated once the deal is closed with a closed date and its status is changed to Closed Won in the Deals and Commission Info modules.
    3. Deal Count: The commission will be updated module once the deal is closed and its status is changed to Closed Won.
  4. The Commission Frequency is set to Monthly by default.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Repeat these steps to create more plans.
  7. There can be only one plan active at a time. The active plan can be changed on the Extension Settings page.

All the plans created will be listed on the Extension Settings page, and the plan settings can be modified from this page at any time. For users who are upgrading from the older version of the extension, an Old Records section will be created to display your older plan settings.
            

Retrieving commission information

The commission amount will be calculated automatically for all the deals won based on the defined commission plan settings.
  1. Click on the deal in the Deals module.
  2. Make sure the deal owner's name is mapped to the correct salesperson.
  3. Verify that the deal stage has changed to Closed Won.
  4. Under Deal Information,
    1. For Deal Age - the commission amount and the commission info gets updated automatically.
    2. For Product Units and Deal Count, the commission info gets updated automatically.
  5. The Commission Info tab displays monthly commission information for each deal owner. The total commission they earned and the total number of deals they closed are shown here.

Note: The commission amount and the number of deals closed in the Commission Info module will not be updated if a deal is deleted, only if the deal is edited.

Uninstalling the extension

To uninstall the extension:
  1. Navigate to  > Marketplace > All.
    All the installed extensions are listed under All Extensions.
  2. Browse for "Commission Management", and click its Uninstall link.
  3. Click OK to confirm and uninstall the extension.
