The ChARM EHR for Zoho Desk extension is designed to synchronize patient information between ChARM EHR and Zoho Desk. With this integration, patient data can be accessed anytime from tickets in Zoho Desk, and the data can be managed from within the Zoho Desk. New patient records can also be created in ChARM EHR from Zoho Desk.
Installing the extension
The ChARM EHR extension can be installed from the Zoho Marketplace or from your Zoho Desk account.
To install from Zoho Desk:
Log in to your Zoho Desk account with Administrator privileges.
Click the Setup icon ( ) in the top bar. Under Marketplace, click All.
Search for and select the ChARM EHR extension, then click Install.
In General Settings, select the department and profiles whose agents can access the extension in Zoho Desk.
Agree to the Terms of Use, then click Install.
Click Authorize, then click Accept to authorize Zapps to activate the extension.
Click Authorize, then click Accept to authorize your Zoho OAuth service.
Click Authorize, and authorize with your Charm EHR credentials.
Under Configuration, provide the API Key of your ChARM EHR account.
Click Save.

The extension can be accessed from the left tab of the ticket detail page. To access the extension, open a ticket from your portal.
- Click the icon on the left side of the ticket detail page.
All extensions installed in this location will be listed. - Select ChARM EHR.
The widget will be displayed in the left panel of the ticket detail page.
Creating patient record from Zoho Desk
You can create a patient record in ChARM EHR from the Zoho Desk if there are no records associated with the email in the ticket opened. To create a patient record, enter the following details in the ChARM EHR widget opened in the left panel.
- The Email field will be auto-populated from the ticket.
- Select a Facility from the drop-down.
- Enter First Name and Last Name.
- Provide the Date of Birth details.
- Enter the Contact number.
- Select Gender.
- Click Add Patient.
The details will be added as a new patient record in ChARM EHR.
Managing patient records in Zoho Desk
The details of existing records in ChARM EHR can be viewed and modified in Zoho Desk using this extension, when a ticket is received from them. Multiple patient accounts can be mapped to a single email address in ChARM EHR. The details of all those multiple accounts can be viewed and modified in Zoho Desk. Any changes made in Zoho Desk will be synced in ChARM EHR simultaneously.
To view patient records:
- Open the ticket from the desired contact.
- Select ChARM EHR widget in the left panel.
- The patient list associated with the email address in the ticket will be shown.
It can be a single contact or multiple contacts.
- If multiple contacts are present, click on the desired contact.
The details of the selected contact will be shown. - Of the patient records, the First Name, Last Name, Contact Number, and Date of Birth can be modified in Zoho Desk.
Note: Along with the patient details, any appointments associated with the patient in ChARM EHR will also be displayed.
Uninstalling the extension
- Click the Setup icon ( ) in the top bar.
- In the Setup Landing page, click All under Marketplace.
- In the Marketplace page, click Installed Extensions.
- Choose ChARM EHR from the list of extensions.
- Click the More icon () in the upper-right corner of the ChARM EHR extension setup page.
- Select Uninstall Extension.
- Click Confirm.
