Campaign creation is an essential process in Zoho Campaigns. Sometimes, you may face some issues in the campaign creation flow. This guide is a compilation of such issues and how they can be solved or avoided.
- CRM owner address disabled
- Sender address not fetched from the custom field
- Personalize 'To address' option not working - advanced campaigns
- None (No Header and Footer) option
- URL not being tracked by Google Analytics
- Associate a workflow based on campaign activity
CRM owner address disabled
Case: Users contact us when the Sender fields are disabled for them when they choose CRM data option in the Personalized sender details field.
Check if you've integrated with Zoho CRM,
- If you haven't integrated with Zoho CRM, integrate and try again.
- If you've already integrated with CRM, check if the integration is still working and redo the integration if required.
Sender address not fetched from the custom field
Case: In the Personalized sender details field, we have an option that fetches the sender detail from custom field. Users contact us stating that sometimes sender details are not fetched from the custom field.
This happens when the sender email address fetched from the custom field is unverified. Email addresses cannot be chosen as sender addresses unless they're verified by Zoho Campaigns. Check if the email address you're trying to fetch is verified.
Note: In order to have the custom sender address option, you must have custom email address field and a merge tag created for the particular field.
Personalize 'To address' option not working
Note: The Personalize 'To address' option is available only for survey and form campaigns.
Case: Users contact us stating that some of the recipients' names aren't fetched although they've enabled the Personalize 'To address' checkbox
For this personalization option to work, the corresponding First Name and Last Name fields must not be Empty or NULL valued.
Before sending the campaign, ensure that the first and last name fields of the recipients are not left empty. This is the solution to avoid the above mentioned issue.
Case: Users contact us asking if they can disable Header and Footer for one particular campaign without changing the default theme.
To disable the header and footer option for a particular campaign,
- Click Save and Next after defining the content for your campaign.
- Click the Change theme link under the content section.
- Choose the None (No Header And Footer) option in the Header and Footer Theme drop down.
URL not being tracked by Google Analytics
Case: Users contact us that their URLs aren't tracked, though they've enabled the Track URLs using Google Analytics option in the review section of campaign creation flow
The usual solution to the above use case is pretty simple. Check if you've included the specific URL in your campaign content. You may have enabled the option in another campaign instead of the campaign that actually has the link in its content.
The other thing to check is if the campaign owner's account is integrated with Zoho Campaigns
Tip: UTM parameters will be included by default; users need not add them separately.
Associate a workflow based on campaign activity
Case: Users contact us asking if they can trigger a workflow based on campaign activity like clicks or opens
You can create an activity-based workflow in order to fulfill the above requirements. However, this particular requirement can only be fulfilled by
activity based workflow and not any other workflow type.
