AfterShip

AfterShip

This integration works in tandem with Zoho Inventory to automate the tracking process for manual shipments whilst keeping you and your customer informed on the journey of the shipment.

Benefits of Integration

  • Lifts the excess workload off your shoulder by automatically fetching and updating real-time shipment statuses in Zoho Inventory
  • Supports tracking of over 400+ international couriers worldwide
  • Keeps you and your customers apprised on the position of the shipment by sending out push notifications via e-mail or SMS,increasing trust and customer retention.

How AfterShip Works

Upon creating a trackable shipment in Zoho Inventory, AfterShip transmits the tracking ID to the appropriate shipping carrier, from whom the status details of the particular shipment is fetched and updated on a regular basis within Zoho Inventory. It also simultaneously notifies your customers on the whereabouts of their shipment via email and SMS.

How to Integrate

  1. Navigate to Integrations either from the side bar or from under Settings.

There are two ways to integrate with AfterShip: Instant activation if you don't have an AfterShip account, or connect your AfterShip account.

Instant Activation

If you don't have an AfterShip account, you can click the Activate Now button to integrate in an instant. Requires no sign-ups, account verification, or other intricate procedures.

The charges to use this service will be included as part of the Zoho Inventory subscription plan.

Zoho Inventory shares only the shipment tracking ID, carrier name and shipper account number (for selective carriers) with AfterShip. In this case, you'll receive all shipment-related notifications via email through Zoho Inventory and not AfterShip. This will help safeguard the personally identifiable information of your clients.

Connect your AfterShip account

  1. Click the Connect my AfterShip account button.
  1. Paste the API key in this space and proceed to connect.

You can generate the API key by following the procedure stated here.

If you have your own AfterShip account integrated, you will need to settle any charges through direct payment to AfterShip.

Upon tracking a shipment in Zoho Inventory, details such as your contact information, your customer’s contact information, the shipment details, and your shipper account number (for selective carries) will be shared with AfterShip. In this case, you and your customers will receive all shipment-related updates directly from AfterShip. Note that Zoho Inventory is not responsible for any information shared post integrating with AfterShip.

Track a Manual Shipment

Once the integration is successful, you can start keeping your deliveries in check.

This integration is meant for tracking manual shipments only.

  1. Open a confirmed sales order.

  2. Go to Create and select Ship > Ship Manually. A New Shipment page will open.

  3. Check the option that says Track this shipment in real-time?. Doing so will populate all AfterShip supported carriers.

  1. Find and select the appropriate carrier from the dropdown and enter the Tracking ID provided by them.

  2. Specify the email of the customer that the status notifications should be sent to.

  3. Fill in any other essential details and hit Save to create a package slip with the tracking ID and shipment details.

To enable tracking for the untracked shipments
  1. Open an untracked shipment.
  2. Click Enable Tracking.
  3. Provide the package details.
  4. Specify the email of the customer to which status notifications should be sent.
  5. Click Enable Tracking.

View shipment status

  1. Open a tracked shipment.

  2. Click the Shipment In Transit button.

The same button appears as Shipment Timeline for shipments that are marked as Delivered.

A slider tab will open from the right where you can view the current location and the complete timeline of a shipment.

When the shipment is delivered, AfterShip automatically marks the status as Delivered in Zoho Inventory.

Deactivate AfterShip integration
